Tom Coughlin as Syracuse Coach?

There is a good chance Coughlin's days with the Giants are numbered, and lets face it, does anyone honestly think this whole Greg Robinson thing ends any other way than with him being fired, hopefully next year? That said, I think Coughlin could be a candidate for the SU job after next year.

Personally, I think this would be a tremendous move. First off, Coughlin is an SU Graudate and former SU Assistant Coach. The biggest factor is that he is a "big name" coach who will bring great credibility to our recruiting and it will pay immediate dividends with much better players coming to SU. Also, his coaching style is very harsh for the NFL, but is perfect for college players who need and thrive on this strict discipline. I believe a move like this would turn our whole program around in a very big way. Look at his success at Boston College as an example.

What do you all think?

Coughlin is a Syracuse disiple and ran in a backfield with Floyd Little and Larry Czonka. I guess I wouldn't have a huge problem with Coughlin if he were the head coach of Syracuse.

However my quams about him are that he needs a good offensive coordinator if not he should call the plays (did it in Jax and was successful). If he can bring recruits back into SU I say go for it.

Marcus is correct he can't get any worse for the Orange that Robinson has done already.

Just don't bring Huefnagle or Gilbride with him because they blow!!!
