Randy Johnson is a BUM
I doubt there will be much disagreement here, but I'll throw it out there anyway. Does everyone agree that trading Randy Johnson is a great move? I want to go on record to point out that in my opinion it would be wise to simply pay Johnson to go home and not pitch, so even if they get one average minor league pitcher for him I believe that to be a bonus. Many say this would free up money to sign Barry Zito, which I would be in favor of, however, I say even if we can't get Zito, and get virtually nothing for him, just dumping him would be a plus! This guy is a bum, and a has been, and has been a has been since day one in pinstripes.

Davols I agree...lets move him right out of NY. The only issue I have here if they do end up signing Zito is the price tag he will bring...again I am not sold on paying probably over 100 mil for this guy. He has steadily declined since his CY Young winning year however he never gets hurt so thats a plus. I will take young prospects at any point for these over paid over the hill bums.
The New York Daily News says the Yankees and Diamondbacks could complete a Randy Johnson deal before next week.
Once a deal is agreed to, the Diamondbacks will want to discuss at a one-year extension with Johnson, and if they don't like what they hear then, the trade could still fall apart. The Yankees are asking for two members from a group of pitching prospects that includes Dustin Nippert, Micah Owings and Ross Ohlendorf. The report doesn't say anything about them getting one of the Diamondbacks' relievers, such as Luis Vizcaino or Dustin Nippert.

According to ESPN's Peter Gammons and The Associated Press, the Giants and Barry Zito have agreed to a seven-year, $126 million contract. Zito will get a full no-trade clause under the terms of his seven-year, $126 million contract with the Giants.
The option for an eighth year at $18 million kicks in if Zito throws 200 innings in 2013, 400 innings in 2012-13 or 600 innings in 2011-13. There's a $7 million buyout for the option, so Zito is due a paltry $137 million if it's picked up.

Well obviously Zito is gone but I still say send this guy packing. He actually makes the team worse by being on the roster than if he just retired.
