If you look back at our emails you will see that I said whether or not Michigan loses and/or Florida wins has absolutely no impact on the argument of who should have been there. We cannot now look back with new information to justify a choice that lacked that information when it had to be made. Now, it is clear Florida would be the choice. But what did we know 6 weeks ago when the choice was made? If you look back over the arguments, I think you'll see that I said a case could be made for either, but that Michigan had the better resume, and I was mostly upset at the argument that Michigan should play OSU simply because they already played them once.
The other aspect is matchups. Some teams just match up well against each other. If florida played Michigan, I'm not convinced they'd beat them. But clearly Florida was deserving of a shot, looking now, but at the time, a case could be made for either. I don't think Florida's win is a vindication of the argument that they deserved a shot, I think they just flat out outplayed OSU and matched up great with them. But it doesn't prove anything about the SEC of Big 10. (neither of which I relish making an argument for the strength of)
Finally, I'd like to send a shout out to the 5-0 in bowl games BIG EAST!!! NO LONGER THE BIG LEAST!!!!!!! Now if cuse can just step it back up.
Ok here is this crap coming from Marcus who will sit there (you too Davoli) and beat me up for liking UNC in basketball (far 2nd to the cuse let it be known) and root for the ACC when Syracuse (not the rest of the big east) is already out of the tourney or whenever they are not playing.
Now since the conception of this blog I have heard that you were once a Oklahoma fan and you seem to be all up in Florida's grill about this national championship...where are your true colors I ask??? I don't want to hear about how I root for the ACC and how bad that is and how you all the sudden are in love with SEC Florida football and to add were once in love with Oklahoma Big 12 football...don't bring that human fical matter running of the mouth bull shit argument to the table again.
As for Michigan...I am right along the same lines with Davoli on this, 6 weeks ago the matchup that we best felt should determine the national championship was that of OSU vs. Michigan. I also was not about the arguement that they couldn't play again...why not? I mean at that point I felt, along with many others, those were the two top qualified teams to represent a true national championship game. Granted I too said that Florida would be the only other team behind Michigan to vie for a chance at it.
Once this all played out I knew Michigan was going to loose to USC, Carr just doesn't prepare his kids for meaningless bowl games.
OSU on the other hand was out played and it was all about the matchup I feel as well. A really long layoff which helped the smarts of the Florida coaching staff to execute against OSU was another reason why I believe they beat up on OSU. Not going to make excuses for OSU they should have been just as prepared but out of the last 9 BCS championships 7 have been underdogs and I feel that is because the underdog has the advantage in game preperation as well as motivation during that period and that has be the case more times than not.

Salots, you know-nothing fuck - since when am I on the F-L-A bandwagon? If you remember, all I said was that Florida, by virtue of being percentage points higher in the BCS's computer ranking component, DESERVED to be in the game over Michigan . . . had Michigan held that distinction, I would have advocated for Michigan over Florida . . .
