Ok lets play the same game we always do it seems with Syracuse that we have over the last few years...are they In or are they Out?
Here are the hard core stats:
45 in the RPI at 19-12
Here are there quality wins Based on the RPI computers:
Siena - who looks like they are going to represent the MAAC
St. Joes - 18-11, 54 in RPI, they are on the bubble themselves
Cornell - In the tourney already
Providence - not sure how this is a quality win but at 18-11 they could be on the bubble, 98 RPI
at Villanova - also on the bubble which is a perfect matchup for the Cuse on Thursday in the 8/9 game of the Beast Tourney, their RPI is 55
Georgetown - RPI of 7, big win
Seton Hall - I do not think they are a bubble team the computer might be thinking that way, they have a RPI of 99
Marquette - Huge win, another against top 25 in the final days of the season, there RPI is 23
Now the flip side...Bad Losses
at Cinci, RPI of 113, 13-17
at South Florida, RPI 168, 12-19
Now here are the quality losses if you will...
at OSU, RPI 50..ehhh this is a tough one I would almost say it could be a bad loss rather than a quality one
Mass, RPI 41, this team is getting into the tourney, good year at 21-9
URI, low RPI at 66, Record is 21-10, again this could almost be a bad loss if URI is on the cusp which they are right now
at West Virginia - RPI of 34, 21-9, another bubble team from the BE
@ Georgetown
Uconn - As much as it pains me to say this, uconn looks like one of the hottest teams going into the tourney, at the time I thought it was a bad loss, this is now consider a quality loss with uconn's RPI at 14, with a record of 24-7
at louisvile, RPI 11
at ND, RPI 18
Pitt, you can say a quality loss, however in regards to how they lost will stick in the committees mind a bit, record of 21-9 with a RPI of 26
Now Syracuse does have a power ranking at 24, what is going against them is a bad 2-7 against the top 50 in the RPI!
So let the debate begin...

I'm going to say it again (like I've said for the last month) . . . two wins in the tourney and if they don't get in, they are getting screwed, AGAIN . . .
If they beat Villanova and lose to GTown, then I would put them in, but I can't really bitch TOO MUCH - I still think that their name alone should be enough to get them in at what would be 10 and 10 in the BEast . . .
They lose to Nova, welcome to the NIT . . . although an argument could still be made for them . . .

You could still make an argument for the Orange if they lose to 'Nova but I'm sorry....I don't consider Seton Hall and Providence "good" losses. Those guys only merit consideration if they somehow get in the conference finals.
And like another talented team out west, Arizona, they have far too much skills to even have a debate. Yet here they are..
Well lets see today boys what happens. The only scenario I see fit for syracuse getting in is a win against Nova today (which I believe is an easy feat) and then a win against G-Town. If they split these two games they will be a major bubble team and on the outside looking in, if they can muster up two quality wins here at the Garden then you gotta think they are in.
