Now how the F**K could you not put Joe Paterno (all-time winningest coach) 1 and Bobby Bowden (all-time 2nd winningest coach and very close to surpassing Paterno) 2???
Some one want to please explain why anyone making any of these lists espically ESPN is going to be so incompetent to put these guys 7 and 8...WTF!!!
Please comment here I will post whom I believe should be the top 10 in a bit!!!
So fired up I wrote that wrong...6 and 7!!!
Well, to be honest here, I totally believe that Joe Pa and Bobby B should most definitely be at least in the top four. However, I happen to agree with the number 1 and 2 rankings here. Bear Bryant and Knute Rockne are two fine gentleman who put college football on the map. I think that Paterno and Bowden are beneficiaries of what of what college football is today. The reason college football is what it is, is becasue of coaches like Rockne and Bryant. Bowden and Paterno most definitely notable coaches, and rank among the best of all time. I just feel that Rockne and Bryant are the two main reasons we love the tradition of college football.
I'll tell you what's going on...the same thing that's always going on SOUTHERN BIAS. The southern teams along with ND always get the benefit of this stuff. Look at the list. The reason JoePa is not #1 is simply the same reason that he got screwed out of at least 2 national championships, bias toward southern programs.
Davols I would happen to agree there. Here is the way I look at it:
1. Joe Pa
2. Bryant
3. Rockne
4. Bowden
5. Hayes
Now all of those can be agrued in any order but to not have those 5 gents that I just listed in the top 5 all-time best college football players is just so stupid its commical!!!
Come on Switzer, Spurrier, John(somebody)these guys should not be in there. Where is Schembeckler, all the talk about in Michigan is that guy...a Michigan coach is not in the top 10 you kidding me, he made the all-time greatest rivalry in the sport???
I could make a case for Holtz, Parsighan(sp?), John Robinson.
You know what the problem is, ESPN comes out with stupid stuff like this that just makes them look like they are too mainstream pop culture. They have gotten away from the hardcore M and the M Dogg sports discussions..stop with all the BS and go back to sports!!!
Look if you got guys in there that I have never heard of like this Galginardi cat well then how can he be ahead of the two winningest coaches of all-time that just boggles my mind???
Just to clarify, as I have done some updated research, John Gagliradi is the all-time winniest coach in NCAA history with 443 wins but that is between Div. 3, NAIA school, and Div 2...Ok no he doesn't count!!! He is still coaching up at Saint Johns in Minn., who cares...
Joe Pa- 362 victories in DIV 1...that takes precedent over some no name coach...Bobby Bowden has 365 wins (so I stand corrected Bobby Bowden is the all-time leader right now) so the debate could be which one of these two holds the number 1 spot, because I am sorry the all-time leader in Division 1 wins should be ranked 1st all-time...Regardless there is no way some Div. 2 coach should be ranked higher than these two.
Again why is Switzer in there at number 3, let us not forget that he left Oaklahoma in some turmoil as his criminally based team was facing probation, granted he had a pretty amazing run and never lost much but I put him at the bottom of the top 10 if that...Davols I think you hit it on the head, another Southern Bias in the rankings!!!
Maybe the reason Joe Pa isn't No. 1 is because he's a douchebag.
Retire already you old fuck.
Rockne and Bryant have 6 national championships EACH, compared to Paterno's 2, and BOTH deserve to be ranked ahead of Paterno.
Switzer doesn't belong? How does three national championships sound?
Although Schembechler never won a national championship, I would still include him in my top 10.
I would also rank Woody Hayes, and his three national titles, ahead of Paterno for now. Maybe when the cocksucker gets to 500 wins when he's 100, I'll change my mind - if I'm still alive that is.
I know Salazzo is very particular about what we can post in this blog, however I thought this may be of interest to everyone here. Check out this website for a new blog on CNBC about the "Business of Sports" - very interesting stuff - and could start some new conversations on our own blog.

Marcus you ass...whats with the RyanExpress..FAG!!! Anyhow Switzer to me is he one guy you just think was not around long enough and he is just an asshole, don't defend him because he is a Cowboy guy...I did say that I would probably put him in the top 10...now Schembeckler definitely deserves to be there I am not sure how he could be omitted probably the best coach not to have won a championship. You can argue that Rockne and Bryant should be number 1 but when you think college football and think most wins which I think he will die winning the most ever, when you win 360 plus wins in college football that is the feat that break all of them.
As Davoli said Paterno probably should have two more championships!
Fuck him. Paterno that is, not Davols. Ah fuck Davoli too :).
Hey fellas, I hope you are watching ESPN Classic - right now they are having the All-Time Greatest College Football Team Playoff
The finals? '71 Nebraska vs. '95 Nebraska.
My pick out of the those two? '95 Cornhuskers
The '01 Canes got jobbed - they should have been in the other bracket; they were the most talented football team I've ever seen, and a match-up between them and the '95 Huskers would've been killer. Those are the two best teams I've ever seen, with probably the '04 Trojans, '00 Sooners, '99 Noles, and the '88 Irish, right behind them.
I can't add content from RyanExpress - please make that name a contributor, Otto; otherwise I would've started a new thread regarding all-time college football teams. RomoCop is me at work - keep that name as a contributor as well.
Like you with Mich, I am a Sooner fan. Only difference, I was a Sooner fan before you were a twitch in your . . . oh never mind . . .
You were never a Sooner fan, you became a Sooner fan when your boy Switzer won you a Super Bowl...don't kid anyone!!!
What, no love for Billy Simms and Congressman J.C. Watts????
I used to root as hard for the Sooners as I did my 'Boys in the late 70s through the mid 80s . . . lotta destroyed furniture on both accounts.
Add me as a contributor you son of a bitch.
you are a contributor under RomoCop you bitch bitch!!!
I am sure you broke furniture over McPherson's early years which weren't great rather than breaking it over the Sooners...Switzer you have to admit was a cocky arogrant asshole, when asked about his criminal athletes that put his teams on probation he answered "I didn't know I had to teach players how to act off the football field"...for christ sakes Barry your last QB got arrested for trafficing Coke...great coach right there Marcus and thats why you like him so much!!!
Hey what would your email address be for RyanExpress???
If you can give me that address then I can set it up via email address...can't just add your name for some odd reason.
Switzer was the Sooner coach from '73 to '88 (long enough). During that time, he compiled a record of 157-29-4. His winning percentage of .837 is fourth-best all-time, and he posted remarkable records against several famous contemporaries, going 3-0-1 against Darrell Royal, 12-5 against Tom Osborne, 5-3 against Jimmy Johnson, 2-0 against Bobby Bowden and 1-0 against Joe Paterno, Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes. He was, however, 0-3 against Johnson when Johnson coached the Miami Hurricanes.
Say what you want, but I'm putting Larry Swisher in my top 5. I might, begrudgingly, put Paterno ahead of him, but who knows.
Then switch RomoCop with RyanExpress.
Leave it RomoCop for now. Thanks.
Using good ole wikipedia on those stats aren't you, I read the same thing today...when I researched Switzer...compared to some of the other lists though he was just a tike in his years at OKLA...
I can't change the usernames, that would have to be done by yourself somehow!!!
TO HELL WITH BARRY SWITZER HE CAN SUCK IT!!!
Ryan Express is just his butt boy cause he coached the Cowboys.
Now listen, I am no fan of Penn State or JoePa that is for sure, considering how they chickened out of games with SU, but you can't use the National Championships as any evidence against JoePa being number 1 on this list...as we all know Penn State has been royally screwed out of at least 2 national championships.
The team with Kerry Collins is probably one of the best college football teams of all time, much better than 95% of the national champions over the years. Id put them in my top 10 all time college teams and they didn't even win the championship
RyanExpress is a butt boy espically with that gay name...PSU did chicken out with a great rivalry with SU...I don't like PSU never have but the guy deserves the number one all time ranking!!!
Kerry Collins was so hammered during those games, thats why they we so damn good and probably should have won a national championship that year!
